Less confident children

This week the children have been learning how to give “shopkeepers” change by adding on using a number line.

e.g. pen cost £1.57                                                    change = £3.43

1.     Jump in pennies first.

2.   Jump in tens.

3.   Jump in pounds up to £5.00

4.   Count up how much change.

Use a number line for each of these questions. You are spending £5.00 every time.

1.     A book costs £3.58                           4.     A ball costs £2.85

2.   A pen costs £1.73                             5.      A ruler costs £3.27
