maths home learning 13/3/15

Maths Home Learning                      Mrs Hall                                             13/3/15

This week the children have been learning to tell the time using a 24 hour clock. Please help your child to tell the time at home by reading the analogue time and converting it to digital.

They have also learnt to solve word problems by using a number line to either count on from one time to another to find how long something has taken or they have added in hours and minutes on a given time to show the end time.

E.g.

The race started at 11:30 and ended at 12:15 How long did the race last?

_______+ 30 mins_________________+ 15mins________________
11.30                                           12:00                                             12:15

The race lasted 45 minutes.

The cake went in the oven at 3:20 for 30 minutes. At what time was the cake taken out of the oven?

_______+ 10mins__________________+ 10mins_________________+10mins________________
 3:20                              3:30                               3:40                                    3:50

The cake was taken out of the oven at 3:50
