Maths Home Learning Mrs Hall W/E 12/6/15
This week we have been learning about negative numbers. We have
used a number line to count down and up through the zero. Some children have
found it difficult to understand that if the temperature is 6° on Monday and -2°
on Tuesday the difference between the two temperatures is 8° (Some children
want to say it is 4°)
I am not able to copy the worksheet for the blog but I have plenty of spare ones availiable in the home learning box for any children who manage to loose them. - If all else fails draw a number line from -20 (minus 20) to +20 (plus 20) and ask the children to count back in different numbers e.g. in 3's from a given number e.g start at 7 count back in 2's five times.
