English Home Learning

English Home Learning                                       W/E Friday 19th June 2015
This week we have learnt how to use formal, persuasive language, rhetorical questions and connectives to write a letter to the International Olympic Committee, in order to persuade them to select our country for the next Olympic Games.
For home learning children should write a letter persuading their class teacher to hold a “Golden Time” afternoon. The letter should be written in paragraphs and contain:
1.     A persuasive statement to hook the reader – What is it and why do you want it?
2.   Two or three paragraphs giving reasons, evidence and examples
3.   A concluding paragraph going back to the original point of view.

Can you write well enough to persuade us to give you a Golden Time afternoon?
