Maths Homework due 13/6


Year 4 Maths Homework                  Due: 13.6.17

This week the children have been using mental methods to add and subtract   using place value and number facts.  They have also used factors of numbers to multiply.  They should answer the following questions using those mental methods.

Solve these mentally!!

  1. What must be added to the following to make 200

  1. 178,     b. 146,     c. 85      d. 33      e. 19
     

  1. What is 55 more than each of these numbers?

  1.  28        b. 428       c.438        d 1438       e 4438
     

  1. Sunil has 178 marbles and James has 48 marbles. How many do they have altogether?
     
  2. Tara has collected £125 from a sponsored silence.  Her sister collected £52. How much more do they need to reach their joint target of £200.
     
  3. Solve the following using doubling and halving methods. Show your workings.
      26 x 4        18 x 8        164 ÷ 4          168 ÷ 8
     
  4.  To multiply by 6 you can use the factors, multiply by 3 and then double.  Use this method to solve:      23 x 6          41 x 6
