maths home learning Mrs Hall's maths group only due in 3/5/16

Year 4 Maths Homework               Mrs Hall                 Due: 3/5/16

This week we have learnt to convert time from analogue to the 24 hour clock. We have also used a number line to add on in hours and minutes and to count from one time to another.

1.     For each analogue time write the equivalent 24 hour time:

a.     4:20 pm      b.   7.35 pm       c.  9.56 am

2.   For each 24 hour time write the equivalent analogue time:

a.      15:25      b.  11:34       c.  21:14

3.   For each time count how many more minutes to the next hour:

(hint - number bonds to 60)

a.     1:35            b.  3:10      c. 7:48      d.     8:03

Use a number line to solve these problems

4.   A netball game starts at 3:38.  It lasts for 40 minutes.  When does it end?

5.   Glenn’s bike ride lasts one and half hours. He sets off at 4:50.  What time did he get home?

6.   Holly leaves the classroom at half past three. She goes to tea with her friend and gets home at 17:40. How long did she spend at her friend’s house?

7.   James is running the school marathon. It lasts for 3 hours. After 1 hour and 7 minutes he stops for a drink. How much longer does he need to run for?
