Year 4 Maths Homework             Due 26.1.16

This week we have looking at subtracting using the column method and divsion  Children should answer the following questions using those methods and showing their workings in their books.  They should write a sentence to complete the answer.

1.     John drove 472 miles and then stopped for a break.  His total journey was 962 miles.  After his break how far did he have left to drive?

2.   There are 360 tea bags in a packet.  133 are used.  How many tea bags are left?

3.   There are 745 people on a train. 366 get off at the next station.  How many are left on the train?

4.   5218 people live in Westdean. 3935 people live in Eastdean. How many more people live in Westdean than Eatdean?

5.   There are 4 cans of drink in each pack.  How many packs can be made from 96 drinks?

6.   One quarter of the 268 children in a school have fair hair. How many of the children have fair hair?

7.   There are 228 marbles in a jar. They are split into 6 jars. How many marbles are there in each jar?
