This week we have been learning how to use an apostrophe for missing letters when shortening words. E.g. you are = you’re

Write out the following sentences putting in the correct abbreviation.

1.     We should have taken the bus.

2.   When will it be time to leave?

3.  I said that I had not taken the remote control.

4.   I think it will be a good day for a walk.

5.   We had better write neatly.

6.   They have won the cup for England.

Re write these sentences putting in the longer word for the abbreviation:

1.     My grandma doesn’t know how to use a computer.

2.   I haven’t finished my dinner yet.

3.  Where’s my book?

4.   Now we’re here, let’s party.

5.   They’re all waiting patiently.

6.   You’re doing really well.
