Presentation - English Home Learning 13/2/15

Year 4 English Home Learning                      W/E Friday 13th February 2015

This week the children have been finding out the arguments for and against returning the Elgin Marbles to Greece. For home learning the children should continue to put together a short talk on their chosen debate ready to present to the class straight after half term. Children may make a power point to support their talk if they wish, however this is not necessary as notes will me more than sufficient. The teachers are looking for confident speakers and will be marking the presentations on the delivery, language and tone of the speaker only.

Children should choose one of the following questions to discuss.

1.     Should animals be kept in zoos?

2.   Should all children have free school dinners?

3.   Should children be taught to swim at school?

4.   Should children wear school uniform?

5.   Should families grow their own fruit and vegetables?

6.   Should there be a time / age limit on TV / phone / electronic devices used by children?

7.   Should the voting age be reduced to 16?

8.   Should rainforests be cut down?

9.   Should the 2022 football world cup be held in Quatar?

10.  Own idea.
