We have been looking at different forms of poetry this week, most notably Kennings and Clerihews.  For homework this week, could the children write either a Kenning or a Clerihew about a member of their family.

e.g.

A Clerihew
A Kenning about a tiger
Edmund Clerihew Bentley
Invented the type of poem you are reading presently.
Two comic rhyming couplets about a person where the length isn’t fixed
Then he died in nineteen fifty-six.
A colour splasher
A stripe flasher
An eye gleamer
A wide beamer
A sleek sprinter
A smart hunter
