Home Learning

This weeks Home Learning is to learn some of the songs for the Christmas Concert. Choose some of them to learn off by heart.

ON THE ROAD TO BETHLEHEM

Verse 1:

On their way, feeling fine,

Hoping that the sun will shine.

Joseph and Mary are travelling on,

And on and on.

Verse 2:

Move along while it's light,

Got to get there before night.

Joseph and Mary are travelling on.

Verse 3:

Mary is sitting on the back of a donkey,

With Joseph right there by her side.

Giddy up donkey,

They've got to keep moving,

There's still a long way to ride.

Verse 4:

Move along, with all haste,

For there is no time to waste.

Joseph and Mary, are travelling on.

Joseph and Mary are travelling on.

I'M WAITING

Shepherd:

I'm waiting, yes I'm waiting,

For the King to come to Earth.

I'm waiting, yes I'm waiting,

For a special royal birth.

All:

He's waiting, yes he's waiting,

For the King to come to Earth.

He's waiting, yes he's waiting,

For a special royal birth.

Shepherd:

I've waited now for many, many years,

My faith is true and strong.

I've watched and waited all this time,

Please God – I can't be wrong.

All:

We're waiting, yes we're waiting,

For the King to come to Earth.

We're waiting, yes we're waiting,

For a special royal birth.

NO ROOM AT THE INN

Verse 1:

Mary and Joseph both weary and sore,

Went to an inn and they knocked on the

door.

“Have you a room in which we can both

stay?”

“No room at the inn, today”.

Verse 2:

On to the other inns they slowly drew.

Found to their sorrow that they were full

too.

Even the last inn was full,

Hear them say -

“No room at the inn, today...

Verse 3:

...But we can offer a very small barn,

With oxen and ass,

You will come to no harm.

Make up a bed on the sweet smelling

hay.

No room at the inn, today.

Today, today, today.”

SILENT NIGHT

Verse 1:

Silent night! Holy night!

All is calm, all is bright.

Round yon Virgin Mother and Child,

Holy Infant so tender and mild,

Sleep in heavenly peace.

Sleep in heavenly peace.

Verse 2:

Silent night! Holy night!

Shepherds quake at the sight.

Glories stream from Heaven afar,

Heav'nly host sing Alleluia.

Christ, the Saviour is born!

Christ the Saviour is born!

Verse 3:

Silent night! Holy night!

Son of God, love's pure light.

Radiant beams from Thy holy face,

With the dawn of redeeming grace.

Jesus, Lord at Thy birth,

Jesus, Lord at Thy birth.

IN THE STILLNESS OF THE NIGHT

1st Verse:

In the stillness of the night,

Somewhere a baby cries.

In the stillness of the night,

A child is born.

In a stable cold and dark,

And in a manger laid,

Bringing hope to all the world,

In the stillness of the night.

2nd Verse:

In the stillness of the night,

The shepherds tend their sheep.

In the stillness of the night,

When all is calm.

Then the heavens blaze with light,

They hear the angels song,

Bringing joy to all the world,

In the stillness of the night.

3rd Verse:

In the stillness of the night,

The Royal Kings draw near.

In the stillness of the night,

They kneel and pray.

And they offer to the child,

The precious gifts they bear,

Paying homage to the King

In the stillness of the night.

4th Verse:

In the stillness of your heart,

The Christ-child calls to you.

In the stillness of your heart,

He speaks your name.

Let Him come into your life

He'll bring you hope and joy.

You can offer Him your love,

In the stillness of the night.
