Miss Millett: Maths Home Learning. Due 25th November 2013

This week we have been learning vocabulary and facts all to do with measures.

The children will be tested next Monday to make sure they know these facts:

Calendar and time facts

·       The order of the Months of the Year

·       There are 365 days in a year except for a leap year which has 366.

·       Know the rhyme, 30 days has September, April, June and November.  All the rest have 31, save February alone that has 28 days clear and 29 in each leap year.

·       There are 12 months in a year.

·       There are 52 weeks in a year.

·       There are 24 hours in day.

·       There are 60 minutes in an hour.

·       There are 60 seconds in a minute.

Length facts

·       10mm  =  1cm,

·       100cm  =  1m,

·       1000m  =  1km

Mass and capacity

·       1000g = 1kg

·       1000ml = 1L

Money

·       100p = £1

The children will be asked questions as in: How many pence in one pound? Etc.

Please learn all of these facts and ask an adult to test you.

EXT: Ask questions like: How many cm in 3 metres? How many mm in 7cm? Etc.
